Is it too late to file a claim for a workplace injury from earlier this year?

Maybe not — but time is running out.

In California, you typically have 30 days to report a workplace injury to your employer and up to one year to file a workers’ comp claim. If your injury happened earlier this year, you may still qualify — but delay can weaken your case.

Even if you missed the initial 30-day window, exceptions may apply if:

  • You didn’t realize the injury was work-related
  • Your employer knew or should have known about the injury
  • You were misinformed about your rights

🕒 Act quickly. Contact a workers’ comp attorney to review your situation and help file before it’s too late.
